The Challenge

When we embarked on revamping the Swifthire Mobile platform, we were up against a fast-evolving mobile landscape. The legacy apps were outdated and didn’t support mobile users (no responsiveness, no adaptive designs). The whole system needed a complete overhaul, from backend to frontend, including UX. With new competitors entering the market with mobile-optimized solutions, speed was essential. We needed to build a seamless, mobile-friendly platform for HR professionals and convince them of its value. The stakes were high: we had to show concrete numbers and research to support our product’s ability to streamline background checks for employers.

My Role

This was one of my first major projects with the company, so I had to learn the ropes quickly. I was juggling a lot: absorbing the domain knowledge, diving into the technical system, and simultaneously working on revamping the frontend. We had to be lean and agile, and I took on multiple roles. I was a generalist, market researcher, part-time product owner, and front-end developer all rolled into one. I even got the chance to demo the product at a conference, gathering valuable feedback directly from the market. It was a challenging yet incredibly exciting experience.

The Outcome

In just two years, the mobile platform became a key revenue driver, generating significant profit for the company. We delivered:

  • A clickable Invision prototype with intuitive, minimal overlays
  • A narrated walkthrough video to engage potential users and showcase the product
  • A full set of UX artifacts including wireframes, flowcharts, and user flows

It was a fast-paced, high-impact project that laid the foundation for the company's mobile strategy and helped Swifthire break into the mobile-first space with solid results.
